Janice Wang

Founder and Co-president

Janice Wang is a senior from California. She is the founder and co-president of Compassion For Communities in hopes of showing her local essential workers support during the pandemic.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Janice was deeply inspired and touched by the hard work, professionalism, and unwavering support from the frontline and essential workers in response to the pandemic. She is an ambitious student who also serves as an international English tutor, young composer, and executive leader of many other clubs and organizations.
During her free time, Janice likes to compose music, edit videos, and watch Youtube.

Sophie Szew is beyond honored to serve as the Vice President of Compassion 4 Communities! This organization focuses on connection through human lovingkindness, which is a concept she has been fascinated by for as long as she can remember. She loves to learn and express herself through creative writing, and often intertwines her writing with mental-health advocacy and anecdotal memories from her own recovery. She has been involved in a plethora of mental-health and community-focused initiatives, including a few advocacy campaigns as well as other student-led nonprofits. In addition, she works with Special Needs children at her temple and volunteers as a teacher for Nuevo Amanecer Latino, an agency that assists children who crossed into the U.S. unaccompanied by an adult and without documents.
